Celebs Who Came Out of the Closet as gay or bisexual

Shocking list of some celebrities who in past years have surprised their followers with an interesting open and honest statement.

We all have probably guessed that some of our idols maybe homosexuals but never knew for sure as rumors are nothing else than well, rumors. So in order to clear the rumors we have selected a list of some of celebrities who in past years have surprised his followers by an open statement of how happy they are being gays and the trauma they left behind of having to live their identity in secret. 

1. Ricky Martin

After many rumors, in 2010 the Puerto Rican singer through his Twitter page announced to the world that he was homosexual.

"I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am. "

The artist has twins born to a surrogate in 2008 and maintains a relationship with economist Carlos González Abella.

2. Orlando "The Phenomenon" Cruz

Cruz said through a press release

"I have always been and will remain a proud Puerto Rican. I have always been and will remain a proud gay man. "

The sportsman proposed to his partner, José Manuel Colón through Facebook.

3. Anderson Cooper

The CNN reporter went out of the closet in 2012 through an email where he quoted:

"The truth is I'm gay, always have been, always will be and could not be more happy, comfortable with myself and also proud".

The reporter, listed by the "New York Times" as "the most prominent openly gay American television journalist," has maintained a relationship with Benjamin Maisani since 2009.

4. Michelle Rodriguez

The Puerto Rican actress admitted in an interview that she was bisexual.  

"I shot for both sides. I do what I want. I am a 'f**king' too curious to sit around and do nothing while I can. Men are intriguing. Also women "admitted the actress" of the Fast and the Furious".

5. Rosie O'Donnell

In February 2002, at an event for ovarian cancer research, the American actress said she was a lesbian.

"I do not understand why people make a big deal about being gay ... People are confused, are surprised, as if it were a revelation to anyone."

Said the comedian who in January 2013 with his current wife adopted a girl named Dakota.

6. Matt Bomer

The actor will have lost the opportunity to play the role of Christian Grey in "50 Shades of Grey", but the hearts of millions earned when in an acceptance speech in 2012 he thanked his husband and children.

"And I want to especially thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry. Thanks for teaching me what unconditional love. You will always be the achievement I'm most proud of, " said Bomer.

8. Jodie Foster

After much controversy about his sexuality, the American actress surprised everyone when she revealed her homosexuality in an acceptance speech at the Golden Globe awards.

"I hope you are not disappointed that there will be a big speech coming out tonight, because I came out a million years ago. " she said at the time.

9. Gigi Fernández

The Puerto Rican who won two Olympic gold medals and 17 Grand Slam doubles from 1988-1997, recently spoke to the "New York Times" about motherhood and parenting with her partner Jane Geddes. Several Puerto Rican artists like Ricky Martin and activist Pedro Julio Serrano, congratulated the artist tennis through Twitter.

10. Christian Chavez

The singer and actor in the telenovela RBD came out of the closet in 2007 after circulating photographs of the artist in an alleged marriage to another man.

"I wish to see beyond the note, I am a human being like everyone else, with strengths and weaknesses, and do not think this is a defect" Said the Mexican artist in a press release.

11. Neil Patrick Harris

And yes, this was a big surprise for everybody, and yes it is confirmed Neil Patrick Harris the famous actor of How I met your mother is gay. In 2006, Dr. Doogie Howser accepted that he was gay in an interview with People magazine.

"I am happy to dispel any rumor or mistake, and proud to say that I am a gay man living my life at it's full and lucky to work with wonderful people in my profession I love."

Said Harris, who has been in a relationship with David Burka since 2004. in 2010 the couple announced the birth of their twins.

12. George Michael

The English actor caused a stir when he was found in a compromising situation in the bathroom at Park Beverly Hills in 1998.

"I feel stupid and reckless and weak for having exposed my sexuality that way, but I'm not ashamed [about my sexuality] nor I think I should be, "he said in an interview with CNN.

13. Tiziano Ferro

In 2010 in Vanity Fair, the Italian singer revealed his homosexuality. 

"Late last year I concluded that I wanted to live that part of me, and stop to consider it as a bad, as a negative, or even something disabling" said the singer of "Evenings Negras".

14. Raven Symone

The Disney exestrella went out of the closet via Twitter when she tweeted the following about gay marriage:

"I was very excited to hear that more states are legalizing gay marriage. I, at least I'm not married now, but it's good to know that I am now can if I want. "

15. Ellen Degeneres

Now one of the most iconic symbols of the gay movement is nobody else than Ellen Degeneres.

It is hard to believe that the American entertainer was not always open about her sexuality. In 1997, the comedian was on the cover of the magazine "Time" with the title: "Yes, I'm gay." Although repeatedly admitted that underwent arduous moments after the article, the host of her own program. the artist has now been married to Portia de Rossi since 2008.
